Recommended summer reading (in 140 characters)

Long gone are the weeks of lounging by the pool, reading for hours. These days if I want to get through a book it’s a case of grabbing 20 mins while our daughter naps, or reading myself to sleep, the Kindle falling from my hands or onto my face.
This summer I’ve made an effort to steer away from the crap mags and read actual books instead. Sorry, Heat. Here’s what I’ve finished so far, without lengthy reviews to wade through…
This Must Be The Place – Maggie O’Farrell
The saga of a reclusive Hollywood star and her family in rural Ireland. Lots of jumping around in time. Well worth the concentration needed.
Non-fiction from a great journalist. A look at our lives between ages 45-55: the good, bad and saggy. Great insights on playing with time.
The Rosie Project – Graeme Simsion
Man with Aspergers wants a wife, but gets caught up on an unexpected adventure with an ‘unsuitable’ woman. Amusing. Read before it’s a film.
Ageing estate agent in Massachusetts tries to navigate love, alcoholism and a dwindling career, with a host of colourful characters.

I started reading Cherry Healey’s Letters To My Fanny, but it was like a sub-par Caitlin Moran rip off, so I gave up. Life is too short.
Any books I should check out?
